Clever political moves by YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy are not just keeping Chandrababu Naidu on tenterhooks but are also leaving him thoroughly confused. These days, self-proclaimed political Machiavelli Chandrababu Naidu is finding himself increasingly entangled in Jagan's trap.
When Jagan said that reservations for Kapus is not in his hands and that only Centre can do it, the TDP leaders, including Chandrababu found themselves in piquant position. They realized that Jagan had trapped them. Jagan was telling the truth to the Kapus, who may get angered for some time but will soon realize that Jagan was in fact being frank. But, this comment will bring the BCs, who are numerically stronger, towards Jagan. Jagan knows that BC votes are of critical importance for him to win in 2019. The TDP, with its pro-Kapu comments, has alienated BCs but even Kapus know that Chandrababu cannot give them reservations. So, they face the danger of losing both Kapus and non-Kapu votes.
The Kapus are angry with Chandrababu Naidu as they feel Chandrababu has used them for political purposes. They are also upset at the way he tried to suppress their agitation. Meanwhile, Kapus are also losing faith in their leader Mudragada Padmanabham, who has been changing his stand too often and has changed political parties like he changes clothes. So, the community would be divided at the time of the elections. Sensing this, Jagan played his cards well and has pinned Chandrababu Naidu on the issue. Even BC leader like R Krishnaiah have lauded Jagan for his stand and this could actually add up for YS Jagan.
