Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is showing that he has a mind of his own. He is showing that he can take independent decisions and take decisions that even dare to counter Narendra Modi. He had appointed former union finance secretary Subhash Chandra Garg as his advisor for resource mobilisation.
Garg is a controversial officer of Rajasthan cadre, who had frequent run-ins with Modi government. He was finally sent out of the Union Finance Ministry after Modi government found him going contrary to its policies. He was known for his work in the World Bank, in the Department of Economic Affars an in the Government of Rajasthan. He took VRS from the IAS after he had a run in with Modi government. Now, by appointing Garg, Jagan has shown that he has a mind of his own and that he can take independent decision.
How will Modi government take to this decision of Jagan government? Will this lead to some kind of friction between the state and the central governments? For all these, we need to wait and watch how things unfold.
