Jagan to meet core committee to finalise ministers list
By: Tupaki Desk | 9 April 2022 10:43 AM GMTThe rumour mill is working overtime in Andhra Pradesh, which is set to see a complete overhaul of the council of ministers. Chief Minister YS Jagan has obtained the resignations of all the ministers to get a free hand in forming the new cabinet. But, if sources are to be believed, several of the outgoing ministers would be accommodated in the reshuffle.
Initially, it was believed that five ministers would be retained. But, now sources say that the number could go up. Sources say that Jagan wants to continue with education minister Adimulapu Suresh. Jagan is said to have been satisfied by Suresh’s performance. Similarly, woman and child welfare minister Thaneti Vanitha is also likely to be continued. Sources say that she got a chance to become a minister after her constituency of Kovvur was included in Rajamahendravaram district.
Ditto with BC welfare minster Chelluboyina Venu. His ministerial berth is almost confirmed, say sources. Similarly, labour minister Gummanuri Jayaram too could be continued. If sources are to be believed, Jayaram lobbied hard for the continuance and used his links with mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy.
Sources say that the list of the ministers would be finalised by evening on Saturday. Jagan is likely to meet the core committee to discuss the issue. Sources say that as many as 15 new ministers would be inducted.
