Jagan's two best buddies to move to Rajya Sabha
By: Tupaki Desk | 16 Jun 2020 7:02 AM GMTFor two Ministers in Andhra Pradesh, the current session is the last session. Yes. For Ministers Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose and Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, this will be the last session. On June 19, they would get elected to Rajya Sabha in the biennial elections and would go to Delhi. Thus, two loyal YSRCP leaders would be bidding adieu to the council.
Both Mopidevi and Pilli Subhash have been diehard YSR loyalists and stayed with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy through the thick and thin. Mopidevi had even stayed in the jail for some time. Pilli Subhash defied all allurements to stay with Pilli Subhash. Their being sent to the Rajya Sabha is clear indication that the days of the legislative council are numbered. The YSRCP has already got the assembly to pass a resolution demanding the abrogation of the council.
The TDP has a majority in the council and has been repeatedly blocking a number of bills that the YSRCP government had brought in. Chief among them is the proposal to have three capitals and the introduction of English medium in the state.
