Will Jagan's Warnings Work On These Ministers?
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 Aug 2021 7:06 AM GMTAP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is said to be upset with the overall performance of at least three ministers in his government. He is unhappy about their lack of reaction to the criticism and attack by the Opposition. He reportedly gave the ministers a dressing down for their lack of interest.
The other day, when the cabinet meeting was held, he is said to have taken three ministers to task. He reportedly asked them as to why they did not react when the Opposition, especially the BJP, was breathing down their neck on the issue of Pulichintala project. He asked them why they did not counter the criticism. To this, the three ministers in question had no real answer. Upset over this, he asked the ministers to be pro-active and work hard. "It is important to create the right perception," he is said to have told the ministers.
Sources say that some of Jagan's ministers are adopting a go-slow approach especially when the Opposition is criticising the government. These ministers are spending more time in their respective constituencies and are worried more about the local developments. Jagan is said to have told them to think of themselves as ministers. He told them to keep themselves updated and posted about the happenings in the whole state and not confine themselves to small areas.
According to sources, some ministers are going slow as they are not confident of continuing as ministers. With Jagan set for a cabinet reshuffle, they feel that they may not get an extension. Jagan too is indicating that at least 80 per cent of the present ministers may have to go. All these have made them give up. Hence they are going slow on reacting to Opposition criticism, sources say.
