Jagan warns Kakani, Anil Kumar Yadav: Asks them to mend fences

Finally, the boss, AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, himself had to step in and calm warring YSRCP leaders in trouble-torn Nellore district. Jagan warned both minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy and former minister Anil Kumar Yadav of serious consequences if they continue to bicker and damage the prospects of the party in the district.

While Anil Kumar Yadav was a minister, Kakani Govardhan Reddy, then an MLA and now a minister, created problems for the former. On Kakani's ascent into the cabinet, Anil Kumar Yadav sarcastically announced that he would pay back double to Kakani in terms of "cooperation." Sticking to his word, he held a massive show of strength on the same day when Kakani returned to Nellore. This was seen as a challenge to Kakani.

Both the leaders and their supporters began bickering. Meanwhile, the posters welcoming Kakani were removed by the municipal corporation in Nellore. In the process, some posters of MLA and former minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy were also removed. This led to Anam joining the issue.

Realising that the situation was getting out of hands, YS Jagan warned the party leaders to mend fences. But, it did not have any effect. On Wednesday, Jagan called both Kakani and Anil Yadav to Tadepalli and held separate meetings with them. Later, both the leaders were schooled by Jagan in lessons of party unity.

After the meeting, both the leaders presented a picture perfect of bonhomie and friendship. They said they were united. They both said that there was no scope for groupism in the party. One hopes these leaders will stick to their commitments and work united for the party.
