Jagans rare feat: Only third CM to make whole cabinet resign
X
AP Chief Minister has achieved the rare feat of making all his ministers resign without a murmur. All his ministers have submitted their resignations in one go. This move has established his firm authority on the party and its leaders. This way, he is different from other two Telugu CMs who have made the whole cabinet resign.

In fact, two CMs in the past had made the whole council of ministers resign. Congress CM Tanguturi Anjaiah had to ask his jumbo council of 58 ministers too resign on the orders of the high command. Later, he had to reconstitute another cabinet with a far lesser number of ministers. Anjaiah was forced to do this by the high command.

The second one to do was NTR. After he came to power a second time in 1985, he was upset over the leakage of the budget. In a fit of anger and to contain the embarrassment, he has asked the whole cabinet to resign. All the 36 ministers had to resign. Then too, NTR showed the stamp of his authority, but the leakage of the budget was the major cause of his action.

Unlike these two CMs, YS Jagan has already indicated at the time of swearing-in in 2019 that his council of ministers would be completely overhauled after two-and-a-half years later. Thus he kept his promise when he asked all the ministers to resign on Thursday. Now, he is in the process of reconstituting his council of ministers. Thus, he has shown his complete control over the party and also that he sticks to his decisions without being swayed by pulls and pressures.
