Congress Intellectual Jaipal Reddy Passed Away

Senior Congress Leader Jaipal Reddy breathed his last at a hospital in Hyderabad in the early hours of Sunday. He was diagnosed with pneumonia recently and passed away at the age of 77.
Jaipal Reddy is a 5-time Lok Sabha MP, got elected to Rajya Sabha twice and served as MLA 4 times. Reddy was I&B Minister in IK Gujral Govt, Urban Development, Petroleum, Science and Technology Minister during Manmohan Singh’s regime.
Madgul in Mahbubnagar District is the native place of Jaipal Reddy. He emerged as a politician after active role in student politics in the Osmania University. In 1969, Jaipal got elected as Kalwakurthy MLA. He joined Janata Dal during the 1975 Emergency and later became a Congress Member.
