The highlight of the budget is the newly introduced Healthcare Scheme which provides free medical services up to Rs 5 lakh per year to the poor. This Scheme is aimed to benefit 10 crore families in the country.
Remember, Arogya Shri earned a permanent place for YSR in the hearts of people. No Government dared to remove the scheme though Congress isn't in power since 2014. Seems like, Modi has realized what an impact such a scheme could create. Flagship Healthcare Scheme introduced by Centre will increase the living standards of BPL Families.
In addition, Centre introduced Kisan Credit Cards for Fishermen. Roads for every Village, Free Gas connection with Ujwal Schemes, Employment Training for 50 lakh people and Drinking Water for every household are on the agenda. Subsidy for Women involved in Organic Farming has been provided. MSP on farm produce has been increased by 1.5 percent. Agriculture, Food Processing and Rural Power Schemes were given priority.
