Everyone thought that Janasena will contest in the municipal elections and make a mark. Recently the student wing of Janasena has held a meeting at OU college. This led to a lot of speculations on Janasena entering Telangana politics.

Elections for 120 municipalities and 10 Municipal Corporations will commence on Jan 22nd as per the schedule. Congress leaders have filed a petition to stop the election process for the local bodies, but the court gave the verdict in favour of the Telangana government and gave a nod to the elections.

Janasena Party representative Hariprasad has issued a press note stating that they have opted to stay away from the municipal polls.

"Due to some unavoidable reasons, we have divided to not contest in the polls with the glass tumbler symbol. Our president, Sri. Pawan Kalyan has permitted aspirants to contest as independent candidates. We will support party workers who contest in the elections," read the press note.
