No Signature, Just Thumb Impression from Jaya!
By: Tupaki Desk | 29 Oct 2016 4:21 PM GMTTamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa who is hospitalized since September 22nd seems to be not in a position to offer her signature. That's the reason AIADMK Candidates for Thanjavur, Thirupparankundram and Aravakurichi by-elections have submitted their nomination papers with Jayalalithaa's left thumb impression.
According to the EC norms, A Candidate of the recognized party need to submit Form A and Form B with signatures of the party chief during the nomination process. While Form A features details of party president & symbol, Form B is meant to inform the EC that that particular person is the party's candidate. Altogether, Party Supremo have to sign four times for each candidate.
However, Only thumb impressions of Jayalalithaa appeared on all the forms submitted by AIADMK Candidates. EC permits thumbs impression in cases when the party president is unwell.
Doctors say Jayalalithaa is unable to offer her signature as she has underwent tracheotomy recently.
