Here comes big relief for Amma Jayalalitha who convicted in disproportionate assets case. The High Court of Karnataka delivered its verdict on the appeal by former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalitha challenging a special court order convicting her in the disproportionate assets case on Monday.

Jayalalithaa has been acquitted in a corruption case that had led to her being jailed. Pronouncing the verdict, single-judge bench of Justice C.R. Kumaraswamy said all the charges on which Jayalalithaa was convicted and sentenced by the trial court were not sustainable and upheld her appeal.

The High Court judge took 10 seconds to say "appeal upheld."As soon as the high court of Karnataka announced its verdict on Jayalalitha's supporters began celebrating outside the court in Bangalore. "Amma is innocent... we expected the acquittal... a new political career awaits her," said a jubilant fan of Jaya. With the verdict line cleared for Jaya to become Chief minister and as per sources she will take oath as Tamilnadu CM in few hours.
