Bombay High Court denied permission for BCCI to organize IPL Matches in Maharashtra post April 30th this year due to the severe drought.

Lok Satta chief Jayaprakash Narayan welcomed Bombay High Court order to shift IPL Matches from Maharshtra. Agreeing that the move isn't a solution for the drought, JP opined it helps to focus on water conservation & other alternatives. He also insists use of re-cycled water for gardening and commercial use such as IPL & others to deal with drinking water scarcity.

High Court's order will have an impact on 11 IPL Matches played by franchises like Mumbai Indians & Rising Pune Supergiants.

BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur isn't happy with High Court's order. Stating that only treated sewage water was used to sprinkle on the pitches, He questions how many swimming pools of 5-star hotels have been shut and have people stopped watering their lawns.
