By: Tupaki Desk | 30 March 2018 11:52 AM GMTAll the Political Parties in Andhra Pradesh has been focusing only on Special Category Status at present. A serious debate is happening among people over which party has been really committed to the welfare of people and which party is enacting dramas for political gains. Whether or not AP would get Special Status is a million dollar question.
Centre kept saying Special Status can't be accorded but all the benefits will be extended through Special Package. TDP Government accepted the Special Package, Continued ties with BJP for four years & now began demanding Special Status after a sudden u-turn.
In this situation, Jayaprakash Narayan who is a member of Joint Fact Finding Committee (JFC) formed by Pawan Kalyan set up an Independent Group of Experts (IGE). The first meeting of JFC happened Today afternoon.
During the press conference, Jayaprakash Narayan said: 'Centre willn't grant Special Status to AP. This isn't a secret. All the political parties in AP knew about it long back. I was the first person who suggested Special Status for AP as a compensation for bifurcation'.
JP opined Pawan Kalyan who took the initiative to form Joint Fact Finding Committee (JFC) lost interest after a point & hasn't taken any further action based on the report. He added, 'That's why I had constituted Independent Group of Experts (IGE). If JFC is first stage, Experts Committee is the second stage. If Centre allots us some time, We are ready hold discussions with it'.
