Former CBI JD Lakshminarayana applied for voluntary retirement while serving as an Additional DGP of Maharashtra. A lot of speculations have been doing since the day he sought VRS. This is how he reacted to the queries during a recent media interaction...
Speculations About Political Entry: 'It's the media which is spreading speculations. I had never spoken about political aspirations so far. Will let you know my future plans once VRS gets approved. I will be happy if media remains patient for sometime'.
Delay in Approving VRS: 'No delay...There is a certain process. I had sought VRS on March 22nd. There are holidays for 4-5 days since then. The VRS application should be moved from DGP Office to Home Department & then It will be sent to Centre with CM's approval. Usually, A 3 Months notice is mandatory for obtaining VRS. But, I had requested Maharashtra CM to offer an exemption'.
On Pawan's comment - 'I will welcome if Lakshminarayana wishes to join Jana Sena', He responded: 'I have read his comments in the newspaper. You please wait for some time…I will let you know. As a public servant, I have a responsibility and I need to act as per code of conduct. I will let you know after relieving from my duties'.
