The United States enjoys a good Indian population in the nation. In a few regions, they can be the deciding factor in the elections. Seeing this, Joe Biden had extensively campaigned making the Indian-American community a target audience. After the Presidential polls, he had appointed Indian origin people in key positions.

Going by the same nature, the United States President Joe Biden had nominated Indian-American diplomat Rachna Sachdeva Korhonen as a special official to Mali. The US Administration had issued a release to confirm the development.

If Rachana's nomination gets finalized, she will be the next Indian-American to get a plum post. Ever Since he had assumed the White House, Joe Biden had nominated and appointed a few Indian-origin people for key posts. She is the latest addition to the list.

Korhonen hails from New Jersey's Flemington. After completing her studies, she worked in the IT sector as she was associated with a few leading IT firms. Later, she joined the State Department.

She is currently serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary and the Executive Director of the combined Executive Offices of the State Department's Bureau. Earlier, she had rendered her services as the Consul General and Principal Officer of the US Consulate in Dharan.
