Jolt to ruling TRS: Former Aler MLA to join BJP
By: Tupaki Desk | 3 April 2022 12:54 PM ISTHas the BJP in Telangana launched its Operation Akarsh for 2023 elections? It appears so. The BJP leadership has decided to attract leaders from the other parties, who are unhappy with the leadership of the party they are currently in, so that they are projected as the MLA candidates in the 2023 assembly elections.
As part of it, former Aler MLA Bikshamaiah Goud is all set to join the BJP. If sources are to be believed, he is likely t join the BJP on April 4 or 5 in New Delhi. This is going to be a huge shock to the ruling TRS. Goud is currently in the TRS.
Goud began his political career with the Congress and was an MLA in the undivided Andhra Pradesh He contested and lost the elections in both 2014 and 2019 to Gongidi Sunitha of the TRS.
After the defeat in the 2019 elections, he joined the TRS. He is currently a key member of the TRS in Nalgonda district and has considerable influence in Aler.
However, despite his influence in the constituency, the party has sidelined him. He was not even given any nominated post. Despite his efforts, he could not get an audience with the top leadership of the party.
So, he has decided to join the BJP. He has already held discussions with the BJP leaders in the state. If all goes well, he is likely to join the party on April 4 or 5.
