If you thought that only seniors fight in the Telangana Congress Party, you are mistaken. Even the young leaders fight pitched battles. The Gandhi Bhavan, the state party headquarters of Telangana, witnessed flinging of chairs, throwing of mikes and tearing down flexi banners on Wednesday.

The State National Students Union of India (NSUI) met at the Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday under the leadership of state president Balmuri Venkat. The NSUI activists got divided into two groups and began attacking one another. They threw chairs at their rivals and created a ruckus at the venue.

Even as Venkat was speaking, vice-president Chandana interrupted him. She snatched the mike and said that Venkat was behaving in an autocratic manner. She said the president did not bother to organise a meeting of the NSUI state committee in three years. She also said that the president has failed to form committees in various universities in the state.

She further said that those who were raising their voice against the autocratic ways of the president were being attacked and physically abused. This was strongly objected to by Venkat's supporters. This led to a melee and the supporters of both the leaders attacked each other.

Supporters of Venkat Balmuri attacked Chandana and her followers while she was talking to the mediapersons. They prevented her from speaking. Later, an agitated Chandana said that she would take the issue to the notice of the party high command and ensure that strict action is initiated against Venkat.
