Kamal Haasan Not Allotted Torch Ligh Symbol, AMMK Allotted Pressure Cooker As Election Symbol

The much-anticipated Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Puducherry are slated to be held in 2021. With only months left for the elections, the autonomous constitutional authority Election Commission of India (ECI) has allotted election symbols for various parties.
The ECI shocked the Actor-turned-politician and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief Kamal Haasan by alloting the Torch Light symbol to MGR Makkal Katchi. Kamal hoped that his party will be given the Torch Light symbol. However, ECI allotted the Torch Light symbol for MNM for Puducherry.
Kamal Haasan launched his political party in 2018 and contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections with the battery torch symbol. In his recent election campaign, he used the battery torch symbol too.
Talking about ECI denying torch light symbol, Kamal Haasan said, we are not worried about losing the election symbol. Even though we lost Torch Light, we serve the public like a lighthouse.
Another political party TTV Dhinakaran's Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) was allotted pressure cooker as the election symbol. The party can use the symbol for Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu and 30 Assembly constituencies in Puducherry.
