Following this, Actor-turned-politician, Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) supremo Kamal Hassan released a two and a half minute long video and urged the eligible voters to get themselves enrolled if they have not done yet.
The Universal Hero took to the Microblogging site Twitter and shared the video message in Tamil to encourage the public to register themselves for the voter IDs.
In the video, Kamal Hassan called voter ID a big weapon. By not discharging its responsibility, society will lose its rights automatically. Those who want a change in the system don't have a voter ID.
The Actor-turned-politician appealed to the public to cast their votes in the elections and asked them to make the decision to vote as their mantra for the 2021 elections.
