Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's gold offerings to various temples has been widely criticized. Now, Renowned Professor Kancha Ilaiah and CPI (M) Leader G Ramulu filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in Hyderabad High Court stating such a practice is unconstitutional.

Mr.Ilaiah told: 'Common Good Fund of Endowments Department has been misused by TRS Government for KCR's personal vow. Generally, CGF is collected from Temples with income above Rs 50,000 per month. 5% of the income will be collected from such temples and spent for maintenance of temples which lacked sufficient revenue. What has CM done here is against the Constitution and Secularism'.

The Professor points out never-been-before such Government Orders were issued. He fears this could set a bad precedent and few more leaders might misuse the Public money in a similar fashion.
