The Kandukur meeting recently held by the grand old Telugu Desam Party turned disaster after a stampede-like situation erupted at the meeting. Many people sustained serious injuries in the mishap and as many as eight people passed away in this. The TDP leadership announced ex gratia to the families of the deceased. AP Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced ex-gratia.
While the grand old party is still facing severe criticism for the Kandukur incident, another issue popped up and it is said that a stampede-like situation erupted in the meeting. The cops reached the location and brought the situation under control reportedly.
Ahead of the Sankranti season, the grand old Telugu Desam Party held a big meeting to hand over special gifts and dresses to people. This is said to be the reason behind people gathering in big numbers at the meeting site.
After Nara Chandrababu Naidu left the spot, the situation reportedly went out of hand and people came together. When people in large numbers gathered together a stampede-like situation erupted and a few people sustained injuries.
The meeting was held to meet the people and highlight what the party has done for the public with various schemes. Chandrababu Naidu spoke about Rs 2 kilo scheme which was brought to help the poor eat rice by providing quality rice at affordable prices.
