Kanna Babu takes charge as new AP SEC Secretary

Senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer K Kanna Babu was appointed as the new Secretary to the Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission. Kanna Babu had assumed his office today.
His selection as SEC secretary went through many twists and turns. Earlier, SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar removed the previous SEC secretary G Vani Mohan from the post and recommended senior officer M Ravichandra for the post.
Nimmagadda has sent orders regarding the appointment of a new SEC secretary to Andhra Pradesh. Surprisingly, the Andhra Pradesh government appointed Ravichandra as the special Covid-19 vaccination officer.
To select an ideal candidate as the new SEC secretary, the state government has proposed three names. GSRKR Vijaya Kumar, Raja Babu, and Kanna Babu were proposed by the AP government.
Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has selected Kanna Babu for the post of new secretary for SEC. The government paved way for his appointment by issuing appointment orders.
The SEC is touring in the Kadapa region currently, ahead of the Local Body polls. Instead of waiting for Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar to return to the office, Kanna Babu assumed the office today.
