Special Package for Backward Districts is a provision in AP Reorganization Act 2014. Centre offered not more than Rs 50 crore per year to each one of the 3 Uttar Andhra and 4 Rayalaseema Districts. Shockingly, AP is yet to receive financial assistance of Rs 350 crore for the past few years.
Still, AP BJP Leaders continue to say Centre has been doing so much but State Government isn't utilizing. On the other hand, Union Government kept withdrawing the sanctioned funds citing Utilization Certificates haven't been submitted by the TDP Govt.
Intellectuals such as JP argue how could Centre make the people of AP pay the price for the fault of State Government. He suggests the Central Government to take action against those responsible for the misuse of funds and appoint an authority so as to ensure funds reach the beneficiaries.
Ahead of Telangana Polls, Centre promised Special Package for backward districts. What about AP? AP BJP Leaders exhibit their helplessness by saying, 'We would bring Funds if State Government disclose the actual figures'.
