Kapu Leaders Give a Miss To Chandrababu's Meeting
By: Tupaki Desk | 26 Jun 2019 12:26 PM GMTChandrababu Naidu is being administered shock after shock. The moment he is out of the town, four of his MPs have bid adieu and joined the BJP. Not just that, they even merged the Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party. The second big shock is the no-nonsense demolition of the Praja Vedika, which he built in the river bed at a cost of Rs 9 crore violating all norms. As if this was not enough, even his residence in the river bed is under the threat of demolition. He has to first search for a house to stay in the capital area. There were reports of at least 15 MLAs from his team getting ready to latch on to the BJP bandwagon.
Now comes the biggest shock. On Wednesday morning, he held a meeting of key party workers to take stock of the situation. He found that most of the Kapu biggies were conspicuous by their absence. Not many Kapus were present at the meeting. Among them are sitting MLAs and those who lost the recent elections. Even trusted names like Jyothula Nehru, Bonda Uma and Panchakarla Ramesh were absent. No Kapu leader worth the name attended the meeting. This is a clear signal that the Kapu leaders are going to ditch him.
The recent meeting of the Kapu leaders in Kakinada had actually decided the course that the Kapu politicians of Telugu Desam should take. They seem to be veering towards the BJP. If this plan fructifies, then there would no major Kapus in the TDP. Last heard...Chandrababu’s associates have been calling up the Kapu leaders, but many are not even taking the calls.
