Will Kumaraswamy Government Last Till June 1?

The war of words is getting shriller in Karnataka with both the BJP and the JDU-Congress alliance fighting it out over the survival of the Kumaraswamy Government. The Kumaraswamy Government, which hangs by a slender thread, is under threat from a resurgent BJP, which is firing on all cylinders especially after the Lok Sabha election results. BJP patriarch Yeddiyurappa has claimed that almost 20 Congress MLAs were in touch with the BJP and that the Government might not last beyond May 31. He looks pretty confident that these MLAs, especially the faction led by MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi will cross over to the BJP.
Though Yeddyurappa has tried at least three times to bring down the Kumarasway Government, he could not do due to some deft handling by the Congress Party. But, this time around, he looks pretty confident. Even former CM Sadananda Gowda too said that the Congress JD Government will fall in just two to three days. Something big could happen in the coming few days or it could end up as a storm in the tea cup like the earlier attempts. But, all these are spreading confusion in the minds of the Congress Party.
Karnataka Congress leader and former CM Siddaramayya has dared the BJP to dethrone Kumaraswamy Government by June 1. If the government falls by June 1, he would resign his post he said. Despite Siddhu’s bravado, things are looking bleak for the Congress-JDU alliance. So, expect something very dramatic in the coming two or three days.
