After Gauri's Murder, Security offered to 25 W&A!

The brutal murder of senior journalist Gauri Lankesh came as an eye-opener for Karnataka Government. Upon taking feedback from the Intelligence Department, The Siddaramaiah Government has provided police protection to 25 Writers & Activists.
Prominent personalities like Girish Karnad, Yogesh Master, Banjagere Jayaprakash, Chandrashekhar Patil, Baragur Ramachandrappa, Nataraj Huliyar Chennaveera Kanavi and SM Jamdar will now receive necessary protection. The list mostly include literary figures who express their views openly about matters related to religion and rituals.
Karnataka Government will also provide gunman round the clock to those Writers, Rationalists & Progressive Thinkers who are in the 'low risk' category.
Gauri Lankesh who used to openly criticize Hindutva politics was murdered outside her residence Bengaluru. Karnataka Government offered Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia to her Family. The accused in the case are yet to be nabbed.
