Karnataka Government moved Supreme Court for recovering the Rs 100 crore fine imposed against A1 Jayalalithaa in the Rs 66.65 crore disproportionate assets case.

On February 14th this year while delivering the final judgement, Supreme Court exempted Jayalalithaa as she passed away on December 5th last year. In its review petition filed on Tuesday, Karnataka Government termed the judgement as an error on the face of the record.

It mentions, 'Jayalalithaa died after the conclusion of arguments and judgement is reserved. So, where is the question of abatement of appeal. The trail court judgement that's been pronounced (Rs 100 crore fine on A1) should be implemented. This amount must be recovered from the sale of the properties the party own. So, SC judgement on February 14th need to be modified'.

Whereas, A2 Sasikala, A3 Ilavarasi and A4 Sudhakaran were serving their jail sentence in Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara Prison. They will also have to pay Rs 10 crore each as fine.
