Banjara Hills Police arrested Kathi Mahesh for allegedly making objectionable comments against Lord Rama.
During a news channel debate, Kathi Mahesh commented: 'Ramayanam Oka Katha Matrame. Rama Anevadu Entha Adarsavanthudo...Antha Dagulbagi Ani Nenu Namuthanu. Seetha Ravanudi Thone Unte, Ameku Nyayam Jarigedemo!'.
Organizations such as Hindu Jan Shakti and Vishwa Hindu Parishad filed complaints in various police stations against Kathi Mahesh for hurting the sentiments of Hindus. Based on these complaints, Banjara Hills Police took the Film Critic into custody.
As many as four cases were booked against Kathi Mahesh in Banjara Hills Police Station limit alone. He would be sent to remand after producing him before the magistrate. Already, ACP KS Rao & his Team interrogated Kathi Mahesh and took statement from him. Notices were served to the critic under 41 CrPC.
