Youtube Sensation: Who is this Kavita Devi?

Kavita Devi created history by becoming the first Indian Woman Wrestler to take part in a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) event.
In August this year, Kavita Devi fought against New Zealand wrestler Dakota Kai at the Mae Young Classic tournament. A Video uploaded on the official Youtube channel of WWE on August 31st has gone viral and garnered over 3.7 million views within a week.
Interestingly, Kavita Devi preferred stepping in the wrestling ring in an orange salwar-kameez. A dupatta was tied across her waist. Though she lost the match, The way she fought and kind of skills she possess won many hearts.
Kavita Devi hails from Julana in Haryana. She is a national champion in Weightlifting & Mixed Martial Arts. Initially, Kavitha managed to get police constable post in sports quota but got promoted to Sub-Inspector thereafter. She, however, resigned to the post of SI in 2010 to focus more on the sports. In 2016, Kavita won Gold medal in South Asian Games in the 75 kg Category. She gold selected to represent India in the Women Wrestling event.
