Telangana CM KCR daughter and Member of Parliamanet from Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency Kalvakuntla Kavitha made adverse comments reportedly on Kashmir issue to a National Newspaper.

She compared the issues of Telangana and Kashmir and argued that both were separate countries but were forcefully merged with India after Independence. The controversial comments of Kavith has stirred a controversy and she is facing wrath from political parties

These remarks of Kavitha have shocked other political parties and leaders. Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi told reporters that remarks of Kavitha were objectionable.

Singhvi said that the princely state of Kashmir in its entirety is "an integral part of India, according to the then Accession Instrument of 1947."

He insisted that whatever parts are held by Pakistan physically are illegally occupied and therefore, "few parts were not ours" is not a correct statement either of history or of facts or of politics.

He also reminded the need of being responsible while making comments on this type of sensitive issues.

“It is important to clarify these things because foreign leaders, institutions and other bodies reading such statements by elected representatives of the nation in Lok Sabha are liable to misunderstand’’He said

Singhvi also took exception to Kavitha statement claiming that J&K and Telangana were both formed forcefully and at the same time annexed to the Indian Union.

‘’Kashmir and Telangana were autonomous regions before independence even within the British Empire. They were, of course, princely states but whole meaning and purpose of an Instrument of Accession is that princely sates surrendered whatever autonomy they had to become part of the system after lapsing into the Indian Union.’’He said
