By: Tupaki Desk | 2 Dec 2020 3:13 PM GMTSoon after casting her vote in the Local body elections in Hyderabad ruling TRS MLC and former Nizamabad MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha landed in unwanted controversy. Her controversy became the talk of the town.
Activist and Congress leader Indira Shoban claimed that Kalavakuntla Kavitha casted a fake vote in Hyderabad as her vote was registered in Nizamabad, her Parliamentary constituency. Indira Shoban has written to the SEC in this regard.
Along with the complaint on Kalavakuntla Kavitha, the Congress leader has added the pictures of the former MP casting her vote at a polling center in the city.
The Telangana wing of Bharatiya Janata Party has also supported the claims of the Congress leader over the controversy surrounding the former Nizamabad MP casting a fake vote.
With the growing controversy, the Independent Organisation, Telangana State Election Commission(SEC) responded to the complaints of the BJP and Congress and issued a clarification on the fake vote controversy.
Reports claimed that in the clarification, the SEC said that the former Nizamabad MP has applied for a new voter ID in Hyderabad after canceling her vote in the Nizamabad constituency.
However, the SEC has also not responded to the claims raised by Congress leader Indira Shoban why the Election commission’s website said Kavitha's vote is registered in the Nizamabad constituency.
