KCR Busy Dousing IAS Fires

Stung by successive reversals in the Telangana CM KCR is now trying to address several issues that have been hanging fire for quite some time. Besides addressing the anger and discontent among the government employees by talking about pay rise and retirement age hike, he is now trying to address the issue of groupism and discontent among the IAS officials.
After KCR came to power, several senior IAS officers have been kept in the loop line. Some have been working in insignificant posts for years and others have not been given any posting. With Somesh Kumar becoming the Chief Secretary, the differences have only got more aggravated. For instance, senior IAS officer Chiranjivulu has been relieved from the post of IG, stamps and registrations. This is now being handled by the CS himself and Chiranjeevulu has not been given any post. Senior IAS officials like Suresh Chanda, Harpreet Singh and Shanta Kumar have not posts, while key department like CCLA has no head. Another senior official who has been in the loop line for the past six years is Burra Venkatesam.
There are at least 11 IAS officers who are in the seniority level of additional chief secretary and most of them are in the loop line. KCR is now trying to address this issue so the government becomes more pro-active and functional.
