KCR calls Tank Bund statues as Useless

KCR is greatly known for his witty tongue slips over famous personalities and he is continuing it even after becoming a Chief Minister. KCR stirred up a controversy when he said that some of the statues on Tank Bund were useless.
Today KCR attended the 89th birth anniversary celebrations of veteran telangana lyricist and writer Dasaradhi held at Ravindra Bharathi Auditorium .KCR spoke high of the poet who penned the popular song ‘Naa Telangana Koti Rathanala Veena’.
KCR announced several incentives to the family of the poet and spoke at length about his greatness and need to respect him. KCR assured that Dasarathi's statue would be installed on the Tank Bund.
However KCR did not stop there. Speaking about no statue of Dasaradhi in Hyderabad, KCR said there were some useless statues installed on the Tank Bund
“There are several useless statues on the Tankbund and other chaurasthas of Hyderabad. They are not our people .There is one statue of Bellary Raghava. There is also a lesson on him in school books. He is no one and there is no need to know about him”KCR said
"Who knows Bellary Raghava? remarked KCR while referring to legendary theatre personality Bellary Raghava.
One canÂ’t expect a person of that caliber and post talk like this.there was already enough gap happened between Telugu people due to agitations and hatred talks.It is very shocking to see him continuing his practice even after the state is separated and he becomes Chief Minister of it. It may be recalled that the pro-Telangana activists have damaged the statues of great Telugu icons during the peak of Telangana agitation.
P.S : For all the people like KCR who were not aware about Balalri Raghava. He is an Indian playwright, thespian and film actor, known for his works predominantly in Telugu theater and cinema.
Harischandra, Padukapattabhishekamu, Savitri, Brihannala, Ramaraju charitra, Ramadasu, Tappevaridi, Saripadani sangatulu, etc where his noted dramas. He visited various countries like Sri Lanka, England, France, Germany and Switzerland and gave seminars and lectures on Indian drama art. He advocated and developed the naturalistic style in acting. In 1927 he went to England and took part in English dramas with Laurence Olivier and Charles Laughton. His presentation of Tappevaridi by Rajamannar in 1930 in Madras, has received critical reception as a momentous event heralding a new era in Telugu theater.
