KCR's Daughter To Take Rajya Sabha Route
By: Tupaki Desk | 5 Feb 2020 4:22 AM GMTIt now appears almost certain that KCR's daughter Kavitha Kalwakuntla's political hibernation is over. She is set to become politically active again by entering the Parliament through the Rajya Sabha route. Ever since her humiliating defeat at the hands of political greenhorn and BJP leader Dharmapuri Aravind, Kavitha has been maintaining a low profile. She has also not campaigned in Nizamabad corporation elections, where the TRS performance was way too below par. Many felt that had she campaigned, things would have been different for the TRS.
Party sources claim that both Kavitha and former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy would be sent to the Rajya Sabha as the TRS has a huge majority in the assembly. But, this would also effectively mean an end to the long and illustrious political career of KK aka K Keshava Rao. He may not be renominated this time. This would mean a forced retirement for KK. However sources say that KCR might accommodate KK in some key nominated post.
As for the second Rajya Sabha seat, which will fall vacant as Congress MP AK Khan's term comes to an end, there is a likelihood of former MP Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy being nominated. Pongulti had sacrificed his seat to make way for Nama Nageshwara Rao, who defected from the TDP into the TRS.
