15 New Districts from June 2nd

Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao declared that 15 new districts will be created by June 2nd this year. What follows is creation of 40 new mandals in the State and an RDO will be appointed for each of 8-10 mandals.

KCR opined delimitation of Assembly constituencies would lead to better service to the people with decentralization. In addition, This will help the state receive more Central Funds. He also hinted functioning of the new districts will either begin from August 15th or October 11th, on the eve of Dussehra.

The TRS Supremo ordered Chief Secretary Rajeev Sharma to identify locations for setting up offices for the new district headquarters. He suggested the Officials to plan a centralized office complex where all departments work from the same place. Construction of offices for Collector & SP in all the new district headquarters will begin soon.
