No Representation For Women & STs In TRS Cabinet
By: Tupaki Desk | 19 Feb 2019 6:56 AM GMTLack of representation for Women in TRS Cabinet during the first term has given scope for a lot of criticism. Public and Media expected KCR to offer at least one cabinet berth to a Woman TRS MLA in the second term. Unfortunately, No such decision was taken by the TRS Supremo during the implementation of first phase of cabinet expansion.
Padma Devendar Reddy (Medak), Gongidi Sunitha (Aaleru) and Rekha Nayak (Khanapur) won on TRS Ticket in 2018 Assembly Polls. Speculations were abuzz that Padma Devendar Reddy will be offered cabinet berth and Rekha Nayak would be given Deputy Speaker post. Whereas, KCR seems to be having different plans altogether.
Surprisingly, None of the Leaders were inducted into the TRS Cabinet under ST Quota. Chandulal served as minister in the first term. Girijans were denied representation in the first cabinet expansion.
KCR will be inducting as many as six members in the second phase of cabinet expansion which is likely to happen after Lok Sabha Polls. That is when Women and STs could be offered representation in the cabinet.
