T-MLA'S Salary Hiked From Rs 95000 to Rs 3.5 Lakh

The amenities committee met on Monday at the Assembly Committee Hall and discussed on the matter.As per reports the committe has recommended hike in the salaries of the MLAs and MLCs from Rs 95000 to Rs 3.5 lakh per month.
The committee feels that the Vehicle loan amount should be hiked from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 40 lakh. The amenities committee suggested hike in pension for the MLAs and MLCs. It was hiked from Rs 50000 to Rs 65000 per month.The medical assistance to the legislators would be made limitless.The beneficiaries of the pay hike include ex-legislators and widows of former law-makers.This would result in over Rs 100 crore additional burden on the exchequer.
Members' Amenity Committee (MAC) is headed by Assembly Speaker S Madhusudana Chary.The meeting was attended by council chairperson Swami Goud, ministers Harish Rao and Etela Rajender and leaders from various political parties. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was very particular about hiking the legislators' salary as he felt that the existing salary and perks were meagre.
