KCR Ignores This NGO Leader
By: Tupaki Desk | 2 Sep 2020 4:16 AM GMTNGO leaders turning into politicians is not new in Telugu states. Swami Goud became the chairperson of the Telangana legislative council, while another leader Durga Prasad, managed to garner a key post in the government. So, the outgoing president of the Telangana NGOs association Karem Ravinder Reddy too hoped for some kind of post-retirement rehabilitation. But, KCR being KCR, Reddy's claims are just pushed under the carpet.
Ravinder Reddy hoped for either an extension in the job or some political post. But, KCR fulfilled neither. As a result, his term has come to an end and after years of enjoying a powerful position, he is suddenly jobless – literally as well as politically. He is finding himself utterly powerless. KCR had given MLC post and made Swami Goud the chairperson of the legislative council, while Durga Prasad was given a corporation post after he lost elections to MLC Ramachandra Rao. Reddy hoped that the CM would reward him for his services. But, KCR chose not to give him any extension.
Now, Reddy is left with no option but to resign from the AP NGOs' Association. Already, Mamilla Rajinder, who was till recently his deputy, is making moves to take over the post of the president. Association's Hyderabad unit's president Mujeeb now wants to become the general secretary of the state unit. Reddy may soon pass into history after a long stint as the employees union leader.
