KCR makes Telugu mandatory in All Schools
By: Tupaki Desk | 13 Sep 2017 4:13 AM GMTChief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made it clear Telugu teaching is compulsory in all Educational Institutions from Class 1 to 12. Urdu can be an optional subject. This rule will be implemented from the next Academic Year.
KCR directed Sahitya Academy to prepare a syllabus for Telugu as a subject in Primary, Medium, Higher and Intermediate. So that, Telugu Text Books would be printed accordingly by next academic year.
Telangana CM declared Educational Institutions which doesn't follow 'Telugu-compulsory' rule won't be allowed to function.
World Telugu Conference is scheduled to happen in Hyderabad from December 15th to 19th this year. Telangana Government sanctioned Rs 50 crore for the arrangements of the conference. Sahitya Academy and Official Language Committee were granted a fund of Rs 5 crore and Rs 2 crore respectively.
