Huzurabad effect: Confined to farmhouse since Oct 25, KCR plans to tour districts soon

Shocked by the humiliating defeat in Huzurabad, TRS chief and CM KCR has now decided to reach out to the people. The idea is to prevent further dent to the image of the party. The Huzurabad bypoll result is a clear indication that the people are not happy with the TRS government and the style of functioning.

TRS sources say that KCR will now undertake an extensive tour of the districts in both November and December. During these tours, he would review the delivery of the various welfare schemes being implemented by his government. The TRS leadership feels that choosing the right candidates for the six MLC vacancies will have to be done in such a manner as not to create dissent in the party. It feels that the BjP would try to take advantage of this dissent. There are some 30 serious contenders for the six vacancies and the party may have to do a real tightrope walk to satisfy everyone.

Pragathi Bhavan sources said that KCR will tour various districts to inaugurate party offices and to monitor the implementation of the Dalit Bandhu Scheme in the interior villages. He would also try to patch up the differences between key leaders in various districts. Infighting appears to be affecting the party organisation in several districts.

Interestingly, the last public outing of Chief Minister KCR was on October 25, when he attended the TRS plenary meeting at the Hitex Convention Centre. Since then he has remained confined to his farmhouse in Erravelli of Siddipet district. He did not attend any meeting after the party plenary. He is likely to return to Pragathi Bhavan on Friday.
