See How Media Tackles Media
By: Tupaki Desk | 14 Aug 2018 6:02 AM GMTEven the most powerful of the CMs think twice before taking on the media. Every politician is afraid of a faceoff with the media, but not KCR. The Telangana Chief Minister has a way with the media. He can simply cut a joke or use a powerful metaphor to make light of a tough and tricky question. When a mediaperson persists with his question, KCR simply ridicules him. Sometimes, the retorts border on belittling too.
But, there's pretty much nothing that the mediapersons can do. Gone or the days when the media personnel boycotted press meets and staged protest at the drop of the hat. Today even the media managements, professional leaders are afraid of taking on KCR. Such is KCR's wrath that they think ten times before writing or saying a thing. The journos take cue from their owners and keep quiet.
The same thing happened when a journalist asked an inconvenient question the other day. After he briefed the details of the emergency meeting of the party on Monday, a reporter sought to know if there would be snap polls. KCR retorted saying how naïve of you to think that I would tell everyone in the town that I am dissolving the government. I will not let even ministers get wind of it, he quipped. The guffaws of the reporters and KCR's acerbic comment left the questioner red-faced.
If someone finds fault with his comment, he would then make light of the situation by making another light-hearted comment.
