Don't Bring Nehru Into Muddied Politics
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 Sep 2018 11:26 AM GMTComments and criticism are very common in politics. Making allegations and even bringing those dead to rake up controversy is also common in politics. But, bringing in the dead is considered unethical by many as the dead cannot answer.
But, KCR seems to have hit a new low by bringing in the venerable Jawahar Lal Nehru to critcise the Congress. KCR said that the Congress is responsible for the plight of the Telangana people and Nehru was the real culprit. It is clear that KCR has not stopped hurling invectives on rivals. He attackes them whenever he wants to rake up some controversy and get benefited by it. His comments on Nehru too fall into the category. But, these comments have now become controversial as this is the most virulent yet attack on Nehru. Even the BJP had never criticized him in such strong words. But, KCR is KCR and he is known to be very abusive against his rivals.
Sources say that KCR knows that Congress is his main rival and hence he has targeted its biggest icon. Defame Nehru to demoralize Congress - seems to be his strategy. Assuming Nehru was biased against the Telangana, but didn't KCR himself support united AP as a TDP leader. He is on record through his speech in the assembly where he came out strongly against those seeking a separate Telangana. Was uniting the Telugus a wrong step? Had the AP and Telangana been not together, would Hyderabad have developed the way it has developed now? The Telangana leaders could organize any meeting anywhere when the state was united. Can they hold such meeting now? If Nehru was wrong for advocating a united AP, isn't KCR wrong for backing a united state till 2001? Should he not be treated as a traiter till 2001.
Vilifying or slinging mud on the historic and legendary figures is not right and we do hop that KCR would realize this. If he resorts to mud-slinging, he may have to pay a heavy price for this.
