KCR sets deadline for Hyd Metro Rail
By: Tupaki Desk | 1 Dec 2016 6:34 AM GMTTelangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao passed an order fixing August 2018 as the deadline for completion of Hyderabad Metro Rail Project works. This decision was taken after a review meeting with Metro Rail develop L&T and Government Officials.
Actually, Hyderabad Metro Rail Project is supposed to be completed by June 2017. The deadline has been extended by 14 months now due to delay in the process.
Acquisition of properties and constructing pillars on the roads is a time consuming process. On the other hand, TRS Government is yet to give its consent for the launch of commercial operations on completed routes (Miyapur-SR Nagar (12 km), Nagole-Mettuguda (8 km).
KCR asked L&T to complete Metro Rail Corridor-I (Miyapur to LB Nagar) by November 2017. Which means, CM wishes to start commercial operation of the prestigious project from then onwards.
