KCR Daring Decision!..Impact On Babu?
By: Tupaki Desk | 24 Feb 2018 6:45 AM GMTIt is a common practice for the political parties to forget about the election promises made to the voters after they attain power. No party in India is an exception to this. But there are leaders who fulfilled the poll promises and they came up with new schemes as well. If we talk about Telugu politics, TDP founder former AP CM NTR and legendary leader YSR have won the hearts of people by implementing the poll promises. They have even introduced new schemes as well.
If we talk about the last elections in AP, TDP was worried that YCP would achieve power in the state. To stop them from achieving power, they came up with innumerable elections promises. The promise of jobs, stipend to unemployed youth, reservations to Kapu community, removal of belt shops, loan waiver to DWACRA groups etc. With all these promises and amidst dramatic developments TDP achieved power. People of AP clearly know that how many of those poll promises were fulfilled.
On the other hand, the situation of Telangana is different. People have voted for TRS as the party played a crucial role in the formation of the Telangana State. KCR achieved power without giving many poll promises. But KCR is trying to fulfill most of the poll promises. The latest initiative by KCR government has become a hot topic in the political circles. KCR government is planning to provide stipend for the unemployed youth. The unemployed youth between 18-30 will be given Rs.2,000 monthly stipend.
There is nearly 10 lakh unemployed youth in Telangana as per the estimates. So the government will have to spend Rs.200 crores per month towards this programme. Rs.2400 crore will be the additional burden on the annual budget of the state with this scheme. KCR is reportedly planning to announce this scheme in the upcoming budget. It is known that KCR spearheaded Telangana agitation on three major aspects.. water, funds, jobs. We can say that KCR is succeeded in terms of irrigation projects, funds allocation but he has lagged behind in providing employment. Though he promised to fill all the government vacancies, he has not done much in that direction.
Youth are disappointed as the job notifications were very less and the number of jobs was also negligible. If KCR implements his latest scheme, it will surely decrease the negativity of the youth on KCR. On the other hand, it will have a huge impact on the Chandrababu Naidu in AP. He promised stipend to unemployed youth in the last elections but he conveniently forgot about the promise. YCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy spoken about this promise several times in the Yuvabheri programmes and he said that Chandrababu is yet to fulfill this promise.
