KCR to end Andhra actors & technicians domination
By: Tupaki Desk | 11 Aug 2013 5:24 PM GMTTRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao reportedly asked director N Shankar to prepare an action plan to revive films that are based on Telangana culture and also measures to safeguard the interests of small budget filmmakers in the region.
About 300 plus theatres in Telangana region were controlled by Seemandhra people. Even the infrastructure including studios and film institutes have been in the control of Andhra big-shots. Few of the big producers in the Industry have been dictating terms to small budget filmmakers on the matters like release date and number of theatres.
Knowing about these aspects, KCR asked Shankar to prepare a blue print that would end the monopoly and make Tollywood a level-playing field.
Here are the details of new forums of Telangana:
Director N Shankar - President of Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce.
Producer-cum-Director Allani Sridhar - President of Telangana Film Directors Guild.
Producer-cum-Director Sanayadi Reddy - President of Telangana Producers Council.
