KCR to kill too many birds with one shot in Khammam

Why did Telangana CM KCR choose Khammam district to organize a public meeting on January 18? Those in the know say that KCR has a big game plan for Khammam. There are several reasons for choosing Khammam district to launch his election campaign for the 2023 assembly elections, say sources, They also say that he wants to kill not just one or two, but many birds with one shot.
Khammam is one district that has rejected the TRS lock stock and barrel despite its staggering win in the 2018 assembly elections. The whole district retuned only one TRS MLA. Only Ajay Puvvada could win from Khammam town. In all other constituencies, either the TDP or the Congress managed to post victories. Even big-time leaders such as Tummala Nageswara Rao were defeated.

Senior leader and former MP Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy is already hobnobbing with the BJP and might cross over to the party at any time. He would take along with him at least two or three MLA candidates with him. If that happens the party would suffer a huge shock in the district.
Similarly, another heavyweight Tummala too is contemplating to leave the party. KCR is likely to meet these leaders and offer them sops so that they do not join the BJP. This his January 18 meeting is going to be of critical importance.
