KCR Woos Disgruntled Government Employees
By: Tupaki Desk | 31 Dec 2020 5:11 AM GMTIt seems nothing is going right for the ruling TRS. The party has realised that the government employees, especially the teachers, are deeply upset by the governance. With the employees overwhelmingly voting against the ruling party in the GHMC, the party has suddenly woken up to the fact that the employees can no longer be taken for a ride.
In both the GHMC and Dubbak elections, the postal ballots, used by the government employees, were overwhelmingly against the ruling party. Not just that, in the GHMC elections, it was found that the TRS had lost badly in places like Hastinapuram, Vanasthalipuram, Saroornagar and LB Nagar, where the present and former government employees are a deciding factor. Elsewhere too, the teachers were upset at not being given election duties.
With the elections to the Warangal and Khammam municipal corporations and the two Graduate Constituency MLC elections round the corner, the ruling TRS is worried that it has to do something very urgently to appease the government employees. In all these constituencies, urban, employed and salaried class will play a crucial role in deciding the outcomes. Hence, KCR is now in a hurry to give a pay hike and retirement age hike. Insiders say that KCR is likely to address these issues before February end and then hold the elections.
