KCR's daughter to take Rajya Sabha route
By: Tupaki Desk | 11 Dec 2019 4:01 AM GMTWe haven't seen much of Kavitha Kalwakuntla of late after she suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of BJP's Dharmapuri Aravind. She has largely maintained a low profile and was not seen actively participating even in Batukamma festivities this year. Though there was a talk that she would be nominated to fight from Huzurnagar, poll maths did not give her the opportunity. But, the hibernation may soon be over for her and she would return to the limelight.
If sources close to the TRS top boss KCR are to be believed, she would soon be nominated to the Rajya Sabha and would thus return to active politics. KCR wants her to hold the fort at the national level , while his son KTR controls the party at the state level. Sources say she would be sent to Delhi through Rajya Sabha route as the term of senior party hand K Keshava Rao is ending. KK as he is popularly known, would be made the chairperson of the legislative council.
Sources say KK is showing keen interest in coming back to the local politics and wants to cap his long political career with the chairpersonship of the Legislative Council. It is being rumoured that he had met KCR and expressed the desire to become the chairperson of the council. This has cleared the way for Kavitha. Already, KCR has rehabilitated his close relative Vinod, who lost to Bandi Sanjay of the BJP from Karimnagar.
