Will TDP Be Finished In Kurnool?

Chandrababu Naidu perhaps is facing the biggest challenge of his political career. He is now being overwhelmed by problems from all sides. His money bags have left him. The community that always backed him is now looking towards the BJP. The leaders, who stood by him even during the 10 years when the TDP was in opposition, are ditching him one by one. The demolition of Praja Vedika and the possibility of Lingamaneni guesthouse he used for five years as CM being razed is rankling him. To add to his woes, there is the nagging fear of cases being registered against him.

He is facing the biggest crisis in Kurnool district, where TDP founder member, senior most BC leader in the TDP and former deputy chief minister KE Krishna Murthy is also reportedly planning to leave the TDP. KE, who was quite upset with Chandrababu for bringing his arch rival Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy into the TDP, has been keeping away from Chandrababu for quite some time. To mollify him, Chandrababu had even given his brother KE Krishna Murthy lot of importance. He also gave ticket to KE Krishna Murthy's son Shyam Babu in the recent assembly elections. But, despite all these things, the KE family is sulking and is upset with Chandrababu. The KEs also feel that it is the people's aversion to the TDP that did them in in the recent elections.

Seeing no future in the TDP, they are now mulling leaving the party and join the TDP. They also feel that there would be relief for them in the murder case involving their family only if they join the BJP.

But, if the KE family leaves TDP, the party would be considerably weakened. Minus KE, the TDP would be all but finished.
